How do I create a team for a new client?

You'll only need to create a team for a client if they incorporated outside of Clerky. If your client incorporated using Clerky, you can add their team to your workspace by following the steps in How can I add a client's team on Clerky to my workspace?.

You can create a team for a new client through your workspace manager.

To get started:

  1. Click Manage in the main navigation bar.

  1. Click Teams in the sub-navigation bar.

  1. Click the Add menu and select Create New Team.

  1. Enter the name of the team you'd like to create. Then click Create Team.

Practice Tip

The team’s name should be the legal name of your client since it will be filled into legal paperwork verbatim.

  1. Once you’ve created the team, the team name will appear in the Teams list. You can open the More (···) menu to edit the team name or remove the team.

Once you’ve created a team, you can then add a collaborator to the team through the team settings page or through the workspace manager
